Reviews

“Built around two strong central performances, Bryan Poyser’s well-observed feature captures emotional insights...”
The Hollywood Reporter

“Poyser also demonstrates the power of independent cinema and the resourcefulness and passion that measure a project’s success long before box office receipts."
IndieWire

"Constantly surprising… Kafka and Arnold are both tremendous as the siblings,"
The Moveable Fest

"Bryan Poyser smartly emphasizes character over plot in this indie drama which handsomely pays off with stars Heather Kafka and Justin Arnold able to dig deep into their rich, complex characters."
Next Best Picture

"While we've seen this idea explored before, this is the best version of this narrative since Kenneth Lonergan laid down the template a quarter century ago with You Can Count on Me... it feels like we're watching Arnold and Kafka evolve from day players to movie stars in front of our eyes."
The Movie Waffler

“Bryan Poyser’s earnestly funny comedy, whose levity in the face of life’s most challenging hurdles is bound to make it an audience favorite.”
Geek Vibes Nation (5 Must Watch Films In The 2025 Tribeca Festival U.S. Narrative Competition)

"The film’s central pillar is the stunningly realized friction between the two siblings... Heather Kafka’s performance is a masterwork of tension… Justin Arnold plays Merritt with a boundless, almost manic energy."
Gazettely

"...a bittersweet dramedy that makes you root for its characters even when you know things might go wrong. Kafka delivers a sublime performance… This is a late breakthrough role for someone who should already be a star."
Film Forward

“"A spirited film that will speak to your soul and force you to reflect on all you hold dear... The siblings are expertly played by Heather Kafka and Justin Arnold... Their on-screen dynamic is so natural and believable it's honestly kind of surprising that they're not real brother and sister."
Cinemasters

“…a very human and hilarious look at a bond between siblings… an absolute gem of an indie film.”
